Elephants

I just read that the Detroit Zoo has decided to end their elephant exhibit due to ethical reasons and they are sending their two elephants to an animal sanctuary where they can roam with other elephants.

Sure, it is just one zoo, ending one singular animal exhibit, but it still makes me feel good.

Detroit isn’t all bad.

my husband clipped and saved an article about an elephant who died of a broken heart. her longtime zoo elephant mate died and she stopped eating and cried for like a month before also dying.

Tonya that is the saddest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. It is sad and it makes me cry. I love those elephants, I love them so much.

Also, I dreamed about you AGAIN last night. In the immortal words of Billy Ocean, get out of my dreams and get into my car. The back seat, baby.

Don't cry Christa - pregnant women are always sensitive about elephants; it's a form a body type empathy, you can't help it.

I think you're right, JR. Cause I'm loving all things large and in charge.

PS - I know I don't really know you all that well, but I have to ask - are you REALLY pregnant? Or is this just some webexperiment you're conducting via blog to see the impact of an elaborate story on a limited audience? You only share little slices of your life here, so to an outsider it could seem like a shocking jolt, just out of the blue you start mentioning your pregnancy, etc, and then your plans for moving back to AZ, it's all very abrupt. Is it for real? What are you plans? Are you forcing that young rapscallion who knocked you up to do the right thing and marry you after he doubtless used his slippery rapscalion charms to talk you into a night of heedless passion for once in your otherwise calm & measured existence? Are you raising your child in the same Tweedy/Yorke religion that you seems to be a high priestess of? Will your whippersnapper (assuming he's not ficticious) be as charming and lazy as his mommy? Will you be keeping up the blog during labor? Are you ever going to email me naked photos of yourself? Do you realize it's been two fucking years since the first time you & I emailed each other, and that in the intervening time I've gone to Boston six times and yet we never met, so I can still never confirm if you even exist, or if you're just a particularly witty chatbot, let alone a pregnant chat bot. Anyway, this probably could have been best served by an email, but damned if I'm going to fire up the mail client now, not with the "post" button teasing me like a saucy little minx... come here you dirty little vixen, you know you want me to click on you!!

Not everyone has to make up stories to make their life seem more interesting. Some of us knew WAY before she posted it that she was, in fact, pregnant and moving back to AZ. In fact, I'm offended that someone who says "I know I don't really know you all that well", would have the audacity to NOT send this in an e mail. It's rude and presumptuous.

Sorry, CJM, I love you and I love your baby. 3 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, and this Tiffany person, how do I know that SHE really exists? I mean, what if this is just you, CJM, logging on with a different name and posting to your own blog to keep up the charade...
