arcade fire.

So a few months ago, I was cruising around iTunes looking for new and interesting music and I found my way to a band called Arcade Fire. I listened and downloaded some music and found yet another great band.

Then, a few weeks later, I’m watching Gilmore Girls (one of my favorite programs) and hip little Rory asks her super hip mother if she wants a copy of the Arcade Fire CD. And I thought, “I’m cool just like Rory and Lorelei!”

And now, on m2, I just saw a video for Arcade Fire!

So I may be a music snob, but there’s a reason for it. I’ve got amazing taste. The world is constantly validating my snobbery, justifying my elitism, giving me fuel for my burning ego. I can’t help it. It isn’t my fault. Don’t hate me for my exquisite ears and their boundless capabilities.

In other news, my friend just got robbed. Dirty scumballs broke into their house during the day and stole a bunch of their stuff, including sentimental things, frozen dinners and a half-used roll of deodorant. wtf?

Lots of things in this world bother me. Bad things happening to good people who don’t deserve it is one. People stealing other people’s belongings is another. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done my fair share of shoplifting. But in my mind stealing from stores (or even from work) is a completely different thing than stealing from individuals. Admittedly both are wrong, but I would never break into someone’s home or car to steal their stuff. There’s just something so low about it.

I’ve got a bad feeling about the universe right now. It seems she’s on a bit of a downward swing. I hope we all come out of it okay.

I certainly don’t have my finger on the pulse of the music universe the way Christa does, but I have recently found Joshua Radin — available on iTunes also — and love his music. Specifically “Winter” and “Closer”.

Christa, in all my years of reading loafe this must be one of my most favourite entries ever. It has everything that I love about you.

If a complete stranger came to me on the street and said “so, tell me about cjm, and tell me about loafe” i could talk at them for hours, waving my hands in the air about you and your smart, sensitive, crazy and goofy wonderfulness, or i could simply smile, take them by the hand to the nearest internet cafe, point them to this entry and watch their face come alight with a wonder of biblicalesque proportions. We’re talking the bright lights, the music, the works…

And what could I do but smile and nod back knowingly?

Who in this world couldn’t have a massive crush on C.h.r.i.s.t.a.J.M.a.d.r.i.d?

If any of you knew Simon like I did you would feel on top of the world to hear him say such nice things about you.

also, if you knew him, you’d say “who couldn’t have a massive crush on Simon?” he’s the cat’s pajamas as they say. all meowy and comfy.

also, I love that whenever he posts something, it reads “Simon Says…”

    haha.
