I’m giddy.
absolutely giddy and goosebumped. Today is a big day, guys! It’s the first day of letting the terrorists win.
I’m so proud. It feels good to have my faith in this country restored. A little bit anyway.
- quick look!
- four little words.

Damn it! Damn it to hell!!!
I was reading someone today commenting on the election, and while he was expressing some caution he said something like “when a car is careening down the highway at 100 mph, it just feels good to have someone even start to put the brakes on.” That is just how I feel. I don’t think all our problems are over (we have two more years with the shrub, after all) but it SURE does feel good to see some brake lights.
“I’m under no illusion that the Dems represent anything other than a new set of brakes at this point — but a car that’s going 100mph in the wrong direction first has to slow down before it can stop and turn around.”
There is the exact quote, wow, I didn’t get it right at all. But anyways, it is from cunningrealist.blogspot.com.
God this has been a good day. We just secured the Senate as well. Seriously, I have good friends who are Republicans, and I’m not in favor of demonizing an entire group, but people who still to this day think George W Bush did a good job or is doing a good job or should be allowed to keep doing his job are viewing the world with eyes that just literally wouldn’t fit in my eye sockets. Like maybe those bulging eyes they stick on muppets. How can any allegedly right-wing person look at the crazy high spending ways of this administration or the crazy privacy invading ways of this administration or the crazy gov’t expanding ways (in terms of size, total # of employees, total # of federal divisions, etc) of this adminstration & feel like he’s a good right wing President? He’s entirely betrayed what conservatism’s ostensibly about.
Good points, Jonathan… crazy high spending, massive government bloat, drastically decreased personal liberty protection…. by your description, he almost sounds liberal!
Well played election on the Dems’ part, though. Congressional control has just shifted from one massively screwed up party to another. American democracy at it’s finest!
Hey who gives a shite about the elections, I just got a kick-ass haircut!
That was my point, Brasten; he couldn’t please the conservative base, and he certainly couldn’t please the liberal base. His core, the 30% of America that love him no matter what are the religious zealots & military uber alles types that shame me to be an American. Fortunately the majority of America doesn’t feel that way.
I’m mostly just messing with you, anyway. These results make a lot of sense. I don’t necessarily like it, but whatever.
The best thing to happen from my perspective was the re-election of Lieberman… The worse was a local election. I have NO idea how Cantwell beat McGavick… that should have never happened. That one hurts.
But oh well, life goes on!
So, this is a minor quibble, but I can’t stand when people say “the worse thing that could happen”. It’s “worst”, not “worse”. Notice how it bookends “best”, from earlier in your paragraph.
Yes. It was also a typo.
It’s also proper to put punctuation marks INSIDE quotation marks rather than outside. Just saying…
as tiffany might say:
now now girls, you’re both pretty.
I totally would say that!
All the Democrats I voated for won. Only I voted against Jesse White the Secretary of State. He is a Democrat, but I have a policy against voting for anyone in offiice more than two terms.
Its public service not a career. If you are a dictator for life, now thats a career!
