Interview schminterview

So I had an interview today. FINALLY. After only weeks of being ignored, someone finally responded. It sounds like a pretty okay job. Full-time, doing graphic design and typesetting work at a print shop. I am both excited and terribly sad at the idea of working. But I did the interview and I was very good and competent and hirable, so now it’s in the hands of someone else. And that’s the way I like it. We’ll see what happens. I’ll know by tomorrow.

I have a secret, loafe. I want to tell you but I’m afraid for what it means. I’m afraid to tell you. Actually, I have two secrets. I like having secrets. They make me feel good. I wonder if that’s bad.

Sweetie, I know it’s tempting to tell them about us, but remember, you can’t just go letting the whole world know. Then everyone will want a piece, and Jonjon just can’t be everywhere at once…

Ooooohhhhhh secrets, how delicious! do tell! well, I have a bit o’ news me self. I’m engaged! we’re looking at getting married next spring. Only thing being that we’re getting married in the Catholic Church and although i’ve been baptized Catholic, i’ll still need to do communion and confirmation, oh joy! not to mention, the required pre marriage counseling from the priest. I have already found the PERFECT dress! went online to one of the local bridal shoppes here and found it in about 15 mins. It’s SO me! and SO fabulous! now I just have to go about finding hideous bridesmaid dresses :-) teehee…

    HOLY WEDDING BATMAN!

    I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it. you’re getting married? MARRIED?!?!!!???

    I am in shock.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!

oh that’s so exciting. please let me come please let me come please let me come. I know weddings cost money and all that, but I’ll pay for myself, just LET ME COME. I want to see your dress! do you have a picture of it online? I AM SO EXCITED.

me popping out babies, you getting married, what the heck. are we growing up celeste? are we *gasp* adults???? what’s happened to us. we used to be two wild and crazy gals.

speaking of marriage and babies, when are you gonna have one?

and I can’t imagine you getting married in the church. you’re going to burst into flames!

hahah catholics are so funny. all that business, just to get married.

Babies? plural? is there something you want to tell us? are you pregnant again? so far as MY getting preggers anytime soon, havent decided yet. Bob said he’s cool either way, that it’s entirely up to me. I just dont know though. By the time we get married, will be a few months before my 34th B-Day, so if I DO decide to have kids, I better decide before *too* long. One might be enough for me, if I did do it. I’m scared to lose my independance and freedom and (gulp) social life, but then the payoff of being a mother makes it worth it, I hear, hmmmmmm…. also, just having spent the past week with my two nieces, I see the patience and attention children require and i’m not sure i’m up to the task. UGH! but I dont want to be 10 years down the road and having regret over NOT having kids, ya know? it’s a tough decision. So far as being (God forbid) actual grown ups, let’s not go getting carried away now :-) and of course you can come to the wedding. I was hoping you would. Fear not, you will receive an official invite once we get to that point. So much planning to get done, etc… I can send you the link of the wedding dress I suppose, or maybe I should keep it a secret and make you wait till the day of, hmmmmm…. gotta ponder over that one. Thanks to everybody else for the congratulations! I can hardly believe it myself. Me? getting married? Wow! although I still like to think i’m a “semi” wild & crazy gal still, but who am I kidding? i’ve totally settled into domestichood and by God, I like it.

“catholics are so funny. all that business, just to get married.

I suspect that the catholics have a more principled view of marriage, thus the need for ‘all that business.’

I wouldn’t go so far to say that catholics have a more principled view of marriage as much as they feel the need to SEEM like they have a more principled view of marriage.

I don’t know any statistics, but I’m willing to bet there are just as many divorces and abused women in catholic families as anywhere else. So all that business really doesn’t seem to do much other than make people think catholics have a very principled view of marriage.

in my humble opinion, of course. and by humble I mean very unhumble. and by opinion I mean of course what should be fact.

I didn’t specifically mean to imply that they were RIGHT, or that their pomp and circumstance actually did any good… rather, they believe in a .. oh, let’s call it “more strict”.. moral code regarding marriage, and thus feel a compelling need to not take it lightly, or let it be taken lightly by anyone seeking their services.
