spam, I think it’s spam

the more I think about it, the more I think that this “person” who copied my entries and put them on a blog somewhere isn’t really a person at all. That it’s probably some kind of automated spam scheme, in an attempt to drive up traffic or collect identifying information or get people to register as commenters to get email addresses, etc.

I am not going to fall for it!

Although if this is true, I’m greatly disappointed. my ego is crushed, CRUSHED I tell you, that someone didn’t want to plagiarize me, that they were just using me for their evil spamming ways.

loafe is good enough for stealing, I don’t care what you people say.

UPDATE: Okay, so it’s definitely a spam thing. it’s called splogging. they have a word for everything, don’t they? This plagiarism site is pretty informative (do a search for splog).

that is why I was seeing all those crazy and useless referrers in my logs.

Now I need to figure out a way to stop it. I found a site that gives some solutions.

why are you stealing from me???

I just found the strangest thing. Someone is taking stuff I wrote and posting it as something they wrote on their dumb fucking blogspot.

Now, maybe I should feel flattered that someone likes what I wrote enough to claim it as her own, but it bugs me. a lot. There’s lots of righteous indignation going on over here.

what can you do, eh? I have an internet site, open to the masses. people are gonna do whatever they’re gonna do. my little copyright symbols aren’t exactly a force to be reckoned with, are they? I would link to this douchebag to show you what I’m talking about, but I’m not about to send anyone her way for any reason.

I don’t even really know how I found this out. It doesn’t make any sense. Maybe it’s some kind of new evil plot from the spam vultures. Or maybe it’s just a very sad lonely person who doesn’t know something is wrong with her.

I’m a little jeebed out right now. In my deeper investigations of this thievery, I saw all sorts of weird, unfamiliar things on my stats page and I’m not sure what it means and I’m scared. I’m very scared.

I should change all my passwords.

and start wearing hats when I go out.
