When you don’t have a real job, weekends don’t mean much except that you can hang out with your working friends more often. I am starting to miss working. Listening to my friends talk and complain about their jobs makes me a bit envious. Not that I want to be working some crappy job I hate, but I guess just having that sort of adult interaction and having something else to talk about and worry about than baby stuff. I love being at home with Ryland, I wish it could last forever, but maybe going back to work won’t be quite as bad as I thought.<\/p>\n
So, I’m a little nervous about the new Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie. I want it to be good but it will probably suck. I’ve only read the book as it was released in the US, so I am not some sort of crazed Galaxy fan, but I loved it very much and I don’t want stupid Hollywood mucking it up. stupid hollywood.<\/p>\n
You know that BBC series called “The Office” that was all the rage and then they went ahead and made an American version here? I’ve been watching the American one and I find it very funny. So I rented the original BBC one to compare, and it was so uncomfortably and hilariously good, better than the American one, I think. (Not to say that I don’t like the one here, because I do.) That guy who created both shows, Ricky Gervais, is a frigging genius. I feel so awkward and embarrassed watching it, smirking and cringing and laughing. Curb Your Enthusiasm does the same thing to me. I like shows that are physically painful for me to watch.<\/p>\n
I have to admit that I am just a stupid American, so I watched the BBC show with the subtitles on. I tried not to, but I got so lost and confused and kept going, “What the hell did he just say?” and rewinding it constantly. You Brits have one crazy dialect. I tried to imitate it, but I sounded like such an idiot that even Ryland shook his head in disgust. What can you do. Like I said, I’m just a stupid American.<\/p>\n
Speaking of the bebe, he got his first tooth! It finally broke free from its gummy restraint last week. It’s just this teeny tiny pokey little white thing right now. It thrilled me to bits that his first tooth has arrived, but it’s also a bit depressing. No more toothless grins. No more gummy chomps. No turning back. He’s growing up, second by second, and I am powerless to stop it. I just want him to stay little forever.<\/p>\n
If I had tons of extra money, I’d go get a manicure and a pedicure and a facial and a leg waxing and a haircut and a massage and some new sandals and some flowers.<\/p>\n
Also, if I were super rich I’d have this crazy garden with lots of cool and crazy statues and stone benches and trees and bushes and I would walk around in it and have parties with my friends and we’d play games and laugh and it would be just a very cool garden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
